Frequently Asked Questions

Where do I find all my subscriptions?

Go back 13 months on every bank account and credit card, not just last month, so yearly renewals show up too. Then open the subscriptions list in your phone settings (App Store or Google Play), and in PayPal if you use it, because charges bought there appear on your statement as Apple, Google or PayPal rather than as the service.

Why are the results sorted by yearly cost?

Because that is what each one actually costs you. A monthly price looks small beside a yearly renewal, but a $12 monthly plan costs $144 a year, more than most annual plans. Sorting by the yearly figure puts the ones worth reviewing first.

Some of my subscriptions are billed in US dollars. How do I enter them in Canadian dollars?

Use the Canadian dollar amount from your card statement rather than the listed US price. It already includes the exchange rate, and most Canadian credit cards also add a foreign transaction fee of around 2.5%, which the listed price leaves out.

Can I save my list?

Use Download as CSV. The file opens in Excel or Google Sheets with monthly and yearly columns already filled in, so you can keep it as a subscription tracker spreadsheet and update it when a price changes. The page itself saves nothing.

Is there an app that finds subscriptions automatically?

Budgeting apps that detect recurring charges can build this list from your transactions. WealthMode does this in the US and Canada, from bank sync or from CSV files you download from your bank, and flags charges whose price went up. It does not cancel subscriptions for you: you still cancel with each company.

Is my data stored anywhere?

No. Your list is processed only in your browser and is cleared when you close the page. The CSV is created on your device too. If you use the optional signup form, the name and email address you submit are sent to WealthMode.
